Finance Approval – New Custom Built Side Loading Container Trailer

Existing Sydney based Container Transport client seeking Finance to acquire a larger, custom built Container Trailer designed specifically to move oversized containers from the Port of Sydney to various metropolitan delivery sites. This specialised Container Trailer was critical to the company’s next phase of growth and, at the time, was potentially the first of its kind operating in Australia.

Because the Trailer was purpose built, there was no established sales history or comparable market data – a factor that can make traditional Lenders cautious. Recognising the unique nature of the Asset and its importance to the client’s operations, we adopted a flexible and commercially focused Finance strategy.

As an existing client with a proven operating history, the approval process was significantly streamlined. Rather than requesting full financial statements, we utilised a simplified assessment model requiring only 12 months of business bank statements, securely submitted via a bank-link system. This approach reduced administrative burden while still providing Lenders with clear visibility of the business’s cash flow and performance.

To further strengthen the application, we structured additional collateral security by leveraging two container Trailers already owned outright by the client. This provided the Lender with confidence, offset the risks associated with the custom built nature of the Trailer and allowed us to secure competitive Funding terms.

With Finance approved, the client was able to take delivery of the new Trailer and immediately expand their service capabilities. The ability to transport oversized containers has given them a distinct competitive advantage in the Sydney market, allowing them to service customers and contracts that many other operators simply cannot accommodate.

This strategic investment has not only enhanced the client’s operational capacity but also strengthened their market position, opened new revenue streams and reinforced their reputation as a specialist Container Transport provider.
